Summer holidays in the Alps: glorious sunshine, stunning scenery, and a myriad of adventures around every bend. What better way to cool down after exploring this mountain paradise than by plunging into the crystal-clear waters of one of the many lakes in the region? Here are just a few of our favourites:

• Hintersteiner lake: Considered the cleanest in Tyrol, this lake is located at over 880 metres above sea level in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. Enjoy bathing in its turquoise waters, or if you want to do a spot of sunbathing, there’s even a natural beach. What’s more, hotel guests can use the Hintersteiner See Bus free of charge with their guest card.
• Ahorn lake: Enjoy a refreshing dip in this lovely bathing lake in Söll, just a 10-minute drive away from Scheffau. The lake offers various facilities, such as showers, a kiosk, and a beach volleyball court. Just show your Wilder Kaiser Card to get discounted tickets.
• Going bathing lake: It’s easy to see why this was voted the most beautiful bathing lake in Tyrol. Boasting a beach, an open-air slide, an adventure park, and a buffet restaurant, you can enjoy fun and relaxation surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
