If you’re looking for day trip ideas for your summer holidays in the Alps, we have a top tip for you: Kufstein. Known as the pearl of the Alps, this charming town is only around 16km away from Hotel Das Alpin. Take a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets and marvel at the sight of imposing Kufstein Fortress, which stands high on a hill above the town. The fortress itself is well worth a visit and can be reached on a panoramic funicular ride. As well as overflowing with history, it’s also home to the world’s largest outdoor organ, known as the “Heroes’ Organ”, and is an impressive venue for a variety of musical events, such as Operetta Summer Kufstein. Back down in the town, you can explore a range of unique shops and soak up the historic atmosphere before stopping off for a bite to eat in one of the many cafés and restaurants. And if you don’t manage to make it up to the fortress, don’t worry: You can still experience the sound of the Heroes’ Organ, which is played at midday every day and can be heard throughout the town – the perfect musical accompaniment to a delicious lunch!
